60 years, 60 giveaways, 60 winners

My beautiful, talented, generous, hard working, kind mum turns 60 today.

Jen is the creative inspiration and the steam behind Incomparable buttons.

We had a big celebration last weekend with friends and family flying in from as far as Denmark and Australia to celebrate with us.

That's me on the left with my brother Blaize (our IT guru), mum, sister Shan and our dad. We were blessed with sunshine and warm weather.

To celebrate with all of you, we decided to hold our biggest giveaway to date in conjunction with the Blog Hop Party starting over at the Quilting Gallery on the 25th - we're just starting 2 days early and ending on the 3rd September.

Blog Hop Party

To celebrate a wonderful woman, we are giving away 60 sets of buttons to 60 of our followers.
Anywhere in the world.

Fab, Fab-ric!

We recently exhibited at South Africa's first International Quilt Show held in Johannesburg.

This was part of the display of our sample range of fabrics that are in the pipeline.

I have made a few items using our Incomparable fabric as the accent and the matching Incomparable buttons as the finishing touch.

In case you missed those posts, here are a few pictures of the items I have made:

We are busy working on a full range of fabric designs and patterns - very exciting!

Look out end of next week for our biggest give away ever!

Shoe Makeover

I bought these sweet shoes at a local chain store.

And to make sure that nobody else I knew would have the exact same pair as me...

I personalised them with some super Incomparable buttons.

And when these don't match the colours of my outfit, I change them around...

and create an entirely new pair of shoes:

Buttons add that little something extra to the original pair.

And its easy to do in a jiffy. I used a glue gun to secure the buttons in place but you could use snaps too.

The only time consuming part is choosing which buttons to use next!

Picture Perfect

Jen took some pretty blue cloth with a faint white grass print and hand stitched along the grasses to make them pop.

Then added an assortment of Incomparable flower and bird buttons, presented it neatly in a fabric hoop, and created the prettiest picture. Just in time to take along to the quilt show we were exhibiting at in Johannesburg this past weekend - where it received a lot of attention.

I would like this exact scene for the panel on a fabric bag...don't put your needle away just yet mum!
