It's a Dog's Life - Dog Pillow Template

Last week mum made a cute little pooch as a travel pillow for Kate when she's in her car seat.

Of course the minute Em and Luke set eyes on him, they had to have one each.

Luke chose the same blue colours as the original.

While Em went for a slightly strange combination of blue and pink fabrics and chose large yellow Incomparable daisy buttons for the eyes.

We had a long weekend here and with the sun shining, it was time to bring out the teepee and have some fun with the dog pillows on the lawn.

Real dogs were invited too of course!

Bailey definitely thinks he is one of the gang!

I think he could do with his own neck pillow...

Here is the template if you want to make your own.

Cut it to the size you would like plus a little extra for a seam allowance.
Sew on your eye buttons.
Sew right sides together around the dog, leaving a gap for turning.

You could add a label if you like.

Turn right side out, stuff and then hand stitch closed.

Give to a grandchild and then before any fighting ensues, make more for all the others.

Luke's has a collar with an Incomparable bone button sewn on - too cute.

Wooden Horse Decoration

This cute little Trojan horse ornament was a great find.

He looks very sweet on the mantle piece and at Christmas he'll make a cute tree decoration.

And of course, the kids love to play with him when they come to visit.

One of his wooden wheels fell off on such a visit...and must have rolled under a piece of furniture or into the wood pile in the fireplace as it has never been seen again.

Luckily we had these great Incomparable buttons on hand to replace it...and even improve on the original!

Darling Little Notebook

This is a lovely way to personalise your diary, address book or notebook.

Simply measure and cut fabric to fit your book size with an extra 'seam allowance' for tucking under.

Cross stitch a few kisses x x x.

Then glue the fabric to the book...and glue on an Incomparable heart button in the centre. (You could sew the button on before you glue the fabric down if you prefer.)

And there you have a special new notebook - gorgeous in your bag or to give away as gifts.

Take your hats off...

To this super easy way to revive a plain jersey or top.

Take a set of Incomparable buttons - here we've used these elegant hats - and sew them along the neckline.

Such a simple trick to enhance items in your wardrobe.

Have you used buttons purely for decoration?
