Flower Embellished Cushion Cover

I have a dear Australian friend who has also moved to London after our year in Oxford. Meg is super creative and excels at everything she turns her hand to. Her themed parties are something to behold.

Meg has recently started to showcase her sewing talents on her new blog Meg-made.

I'll be sharing a few of her creations here, starting today with this super cushion cover she sewed and embellished with handmade felt flowers and a few of our Incomparable flower buttons in pastel.

Perfect to match the glorious spring blooms which have made a welcome appearance here this week.

Baby Boy (Bear!) Beanies

We've had several of our fabric designs printed at Spoonflower. I tried out all the different materials and have had a few jersey knits waiting to be put to good use.

I traced the size for a 0-3 month beanie from one I'd bought on sale.

Added some cheeky 'ears' and a trim in our Incomparable 'ducks on wheels' fabric.

Then had ted pose for the pictures.

This next one I made without the ears. I used our Incomparable 'sheep on ribbons' fabric as the accent...

And sewed on a sweet little matcing Incomparable sheep button.

There are still a few days to enter our give away of our bunny buttons: simply follow our blog and leave a comment on the blog hop post.

Chair Make Over

In our latest move we were fortunate enough to be given a set of 6 dining chairs by a friend whose kindness has helped us land on our feet over the past few months in London.

They are super but a little tired.

I cut some foam to size to give a little bit of padding to the seats.
Painted the wood a blue-grey.

And covered the seats in 3 various linens I had in my stash.

I love the hot air balloons print. And so does our ted who is sporting an Incomparable heart pendant tied with ribbon.

These sweet geese are also a firm favourite.

I covered the larger armchairs in this linen which I found in Paris. The combination of little birds and writing is lovely.

While I was busy recovering, it struck me that I could try out some Incomparable fabric to see what it might look like in a nursery or child's room some day - so I gave it a quick try:

Transport theme for a boy's room:

Pink and green teddies for a girl:

And my absolute all time best:

Space theme planets, rockets & stars for girls and boys who dream of being astronauts:

If you haven't entered yet, don't forget we are part of the Quilting Gallery Blog Hop and are giving away 10 sets of Incomparable bunny buttons.

Easiest Decorative Door Stops and a Princess

I've been a little quiet because we have been moving (again!) for hopefully the last time while we are in London.

This move was a little more stressful as we have accumulated rather a large load of things that my hubby thinks may come in handy someday. We've also been fortunate to inherit a fair amount of furniture from a very generous friend.

Anyway, we made it in one piece and are settling in.

The strange thing we've noticed about flats in London is that all the doors automatically spring shut. So first on the 'to buy' list were door stops to keep the neighbours happy.

They looked rather plain so I decided to spruce things up a little using a range of Incomparable buttons of course!

I had a hard time narrowing it down. I love the dolphin for the bathroom but it was a close call between him and all our lovely starfish, shells and sea theme buttons

I am still choosing between the white goose and a chicken for the kitchen.

These were so simple to make. I took a store bought wooden door stop and used a hot glue gun to apply each button et voila!

The flat we are renting is very close to Kensington Gardens. So close that I consider myself neighbours with Wills and Kate!

In fact, while walking with my cousin and her baby this morning, we saw Princess Catherine arriving at Kensington Palace by helicopter.

Well, we never actually saw her, this was probably just Waitrose delivering her groceries but a girl can dream!

Springtime Butterflies and Flowers

With Spring just around the corner (ahem, weather gods did you hear that - please wake up and take note!), I decided to make a lovely and light top for a friend's 3 year old, in anticipation of all the warm sunny days that are surely in store for us here in London.

I bought this beautiful fabric at the Paris show Aiguille en Fete and have been wanting to make something with it ever since.

A store bought pair (on sale!) of leggings which I ruched down the sides and added 3 spring time Incomparable buttons to match the Incomparable butterfly buttons on the top.

Since I don't have the model to pose for lovely pics I have tried hundreds of various combinations to try and take a great shot of the outfit...but this was the best I could do!
I have new respect for shop window dressers. How do they make everything look so appealing?!

Has Spring arrived for you yet?

Something fishy...

These adorable fish buttons were a recent design of mum's that never made it into our catalogue...

but Blaize and I adore them and so he mentioned them on Facebook and the response has been fantastic!

So we will soon be adding a set of 5 fish - 3 glazed and 2 unglazed:

And might even consider parting with a few in a give away soon!

Complete with matching Incomparable baby chicken and mother hen buttons on the other side.

I've lined it with a neutral linen.
